WorldVue Fights Hotel Room Remote Control Germs

In 2017, I highlighted my problem with hotel room germs. This was prior to the pandemic but now, it surprises no one that my post shot up in popularity. On a recent stayed at the Renaissance Milwaukee West I was excited to see a new product: WorldVue, which turns your smartphone into a TV remote control. It starts with a QR code on the TV:

The interface is a little clunky. but the technology certainly works. At one point I lost connection to the TV so I had to figure out how to re-generate the QR code without touching the remote. I had to turn the TV off/on to see the code again. All and all, I was impressed. The system was responsive, worked on Safari and Chrome mobile. I would use it again.
