Flipping Out: Crazy at The Colosseum
The Colosseum is the largest amphitheatre ever built. Unfortunately, these real TripAdvisor travelers think the 1,900 year-old building should be condemned:
Rather eat ground glass
Wait in long lines to buy a ticket, glimpse a view through the throngs, get elbowed by young Asian girls taking 20 pictures of their girlfriend, get run over by tour groups following red flags, I’m bringing my short sword next time. Amazing to see and to reflect upon civilizations path through history, but visit in December. (TripAdvisor)
nothing special
Comparing to everything in Rome, Colosseum is just nothing. The area is very interesting. Colosseum is a famous building, but it is very ugly and symbolises the human pain. Just have a look from outside, it is not nessesary to pay so much money. (TripAdvisor)
don’t even bother
I know that everyone will ask you astonishingly if you won’t visit this place but you can just skip this one because believe me you will see places much better than this. (TripAdvisor)
See it from outside
Nothing worth seeing looks better in photos dont wait in queue if you must go, get the pass/tour in the busy season. (TripAdvisor)
Stuck in Lift at Colosseum
I went to the colosseum early July and used the lift on a very hot day. It must have been at least 40 degrees. We got stuck in the lift and we didn’t know when and if it would open. It was very dangerous and not enjoyable at all. The lift needs to be looked at and also needs to be supervised. (TripAdvisor)
